About Our Minister, Rev. Karen Brammer

Reverend Karen has been a Unitarian Universalist minister since 1998. She has served as minister for congregations in Maine and New York State. She has most recently been located in the Hudson Valley area of New York serving as minister for the UU Congregation of Westchester County from 2013 to 2018 and Interim Pastoral Care Minister for UU Church in Poughkeepsie in 2019.

Reverend Karen also served as Manager of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Green Sanctuary Program from 2012 to 2022, and the UUA’s Congregational Life staff for nine years prior to that. Before becoming a UU minister, she was grass roots change worker in New York and New Hampshire and served as Project Director for New York State’s Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Reverend Karen is a graduate of Wells College in Aurora, NY and the Andover Newton Theological School in Newton, MA.

In addition to Reverend Karen’s dedication to congregational well-being and environmental justice, her passion includes ending systemic oppression in collaboration with Black, Indigenous and People of Color as well as people who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Nonconforming and Transgender.
