On September 18, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Utica is hosting a workshop on racial justice titled “What Stands Between Us? Understanding Racism in America and the Mohawk Valley”. It will be held outside under a tent behind the church located at 10 Higby Road, Utica. The workshop will be led by Mr. Patrick Johnson, a long time leader in racial justice and community building in Utica. Patrick founded Hoops and Dreams and New Life Institute in Utica, both important programs and organizations in the community with the mission to empower and rebuilding Black America. He serves as the District Attorney’s Community Liaison with gang members and individuals who are at risk of lives in violence.
The workshop will begin at 9:30 and run to approximately 2:30 with an hour break for lunch at noon. A simple lunch will be provided. Those interested in attending are welcome to register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
